Hello my name is Darryl Murray. I was born in Grimsby Ontario, but almost my entire life was spent in St.Catharines Ontario. I grew up like every other young man playing on local sports teams with a large involvement in the community. I spent my younger years working at the local fruit and vegetable market. This time of my life was very important to me. It taught me many things: time management skills, economic responsibility, and people skills.
After spending from my early teens to my early twenties there I decided to become an iron worker. I started like every other construction worker as the low man on the crew. I started as a rigger hooking the iron to the men in the sky, and making sure that everyone had everything they needed. The next step was being the man in the air, and great fun it was. The last step for me was running the crew, deciding prices, positioning cranes, laying out the iron, just all around making my team run smooth. This is what brings me to school, the next step, I would like to utilize my new education and construction knowledge with an environmentally friendly company. |
